Teague & Meline Moving to Secondary

Coach Derek Dooley announced that sophomore Marsalis Teague and incoming freshman Ted Meline would be evaluated in the defensive backfield when Fall practice begins on Wednesday. Teague played all 13 games at WR last year and Meline was expected to play WR as well. However, the dismissal of safety Darren Myles, Jr and eligibility issues with a couple 2010 signees has created a depth issue in the secondary. Both Teague and Meline seem to be okay with the move.

"We obviously have some depth issues in the secondary given the fact that Darren Myles is not on the team and we have a couple of freshmen still not here. I don't believe in making players move positions. I had good talks with both Ted and Marsalis," Dooley said of the move.

"They want to give it a shot. We'll get them over there and evaluate them and see what we've got after a certain period of time. I think they both have the physical skills to get over there and help us some."

"Dave Clark (DB) is not eligible, he is not going to be a part of the team. Four guys, John Brown (DT), Marques Dixon (ATH), Eddrick Lofton (DB) and Martaze Jackson (OLB/DE) are still in the process of doing some things. Whether it's procedural, administrative or (class) work that they have to do before they come to be a qualifier," Dooley said of those with eligibility issues remaining to be sorted out.
